Lakeside Beverages has been family owned and operated since 1997, and our clients have become like extended members of our family. In this industry, relationships are important, so we take the time to get to know you and your family and rarely forget a name or a face.
When you visit us, you’ll find that our selection of handcrafted exclusive and rare wines, plus hard to find vintages makes our store one of a kind in the area. With our respected knowledge and reputation, our weekly wine tastings have become sellouts each week. Our years of experience have also given us the privilege to taste and evaluate a variety of wines.
Our History
We are Lamya and Sam Malhotra, the proud owners of Lakeside Beverages in Granite Bay, California. We believe in the value of education; Sam Malhotra holds Masters Degrees in Business Administration and Lamya Malhotra holds a Masters Degree in Hospitality Hotel Management. We have worked as managers for the government and private sector industries both in the U.S. and abroad in the fields of public relations, food and beverage, travel and cruise and hotel management.
In 1985 we moved to America with our young son John to further our dream of raising a family and living a secure, prosperous life. Soon after moving here our daughter Zina was born. Our entire family can often be found helping in the store.
We opened our first store in Carmichael in 1992, followed by a second business, Zina Travel International, in 1994. A few years later we opened our third business, Lakeside Beverages. As our passion for the wine industry grew, we decided to purchase Work Vineyard in Napa Valley in 2007.
Pillars of Success
We work hard to stay focused on what we believe to be the three pillars of a successful family: family values, kindness and appreciation. We make sure to take the time to give back to the community that has been so good to us. We regularly donate our time and resources to help organize hundreds of parties, charity events, business events and corporate functions. We are involved with various community organizations, schools and law enforcement agencies, including the American Heart Association, Child Abuse Prevention Council, Blood Source, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Cystic Fibrosis Society, American Cancer Society, Roseville Fire and Police Department, Roseville Chamber of Commerce, Granite Bay High School, Franklin Elementary School and the Eureka Schools Foundation, just to name a few.
In recognition for the service we provide, Sam Malhotra was honored to be one of the first recipients of the Placer County Board of Supervisors Heroes Award for his dedication to helping the less fortunate.
